Why you shouldn't live in a gated community?

I'm thinking about moving to a gated community with a guard house in Frisco, TX. We love to entertain a lot, and show off our house around christmas time when we have decorations up. We live in Keller, TX, but I want to live more in the city. So whats your opinions?? Should I live in a regular upscale subdivision, or a gated community?? I'm also a soccer mom, I have 5 kids.
